If your cruise ship arrives at the port of Livorno, you have the opportunity to see the sights of Florence during the day. One way trip will take you about 1.5-2 hours. You can get to Florence by bus, train or order a transfer. Let's consider all options in detail:

Round-trip bus for 30 euros

  • Important: You need to book a bus ticket in advance, preferably immediately after buying a cruise. On certain dates there may not be tickets for 3-4 weeks already.

The bus journey from Livorno to Florence will take you about 1 hour 15 minutes. The buses are comfortable.

A round-trip ticket costs 30 euros per person. A nice bonus is the free map of Florence for self-study of attractions. We recommend booking bus tickets on the website www.getyourguide.ru

Choose a date.

A bus stop is a 10-minute walk from the port opposite Gelateria Latte Cafe at 32 Piazza del Municipio, Livorno.

Regional train

To get to Florence by public transport, I advise only the most risky and experienced travelers because of the high risks of being late for the departure of the cruise ship. Strikes, delays and cancellations of regional trains in Italy are the norm. If suddenly you still decide to take a chance, here is the logistics:

Near the port you need to find the Grande 2 Porto Mediceo bus stop and take the LAM BLU bus to the Livorno Centrale station. Go 9 stops, 11 minutes. The bus runs at intervals of 7-15 minutes. The official website with the schedule is here www.livorno.cttnord.it

At the train station, you need to catch the regional train, which should take you to the central station of Florence Santa Maria Novella (S. Maria Novella) in about 1 hour 8 minutes.

If you suddenly do not have time for the train, then the next one should be in an hour. Tickets cost 9.90 euros.

I advise you to plan to leave from Florence no later than 15:30.
