Hotels in the center of Naples by the sea - how to choose?

What hotel to choose in Naples, so that it is in the center and preferably not by the sea? - This question is constantly being asked to me.

Yes, it’s true that many tourists are worried, because Naples is famous all over the world for its criminogenic atmosphere and the mafia, but it is also known for its stunningly kind southern people, incredibly delicious cuisine, and unique sights. At least once in a lifetime, every traveler in love with Italy is obliged to visit this colorful metropolis on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Only hotels with the highest ratings from our readers and friends were included in the review. In most cases, one of our friends or I personally stayed. I am sure that after studying this article, the question of safe living in Naples will be removed for you.

Where to live in Naples?

We strongly recommend that you stay only in the historical center of Naples, the closer to the sea and the promenade, the better.

I’ll immediately warn you that the cost of a decent 4 or 5 star hotel on the beach starts from 100-150 euros per day.

Remember the golden rules:

  1. In no case should you settle in or near the Spanish Quarter (Quartieri Sganioli) and the central train station.
  2. Book a hotel in the historical center, and ideally closer to the sea.
  3. When it gets dark, try to walk only in crowded places, ideally - along the promenade - it's beautiful there. Daytime in Naples is safe almost everywhere except point 1.
  4. Don't get too catchy: gold chains, leave an expensive watch in a safe in your room or at home.
  5. Arriving in Naples on your own or rented car is a bad idea, because you risk being left without wheels. It is better to travel by high-speed train, for example, from Rome.

Here are the filters that I usually use when searching for a hotel in Naples.

So let's go.

Grand Hotel Vesuvio

Grand Hotel Vesuvio - number one in my personal rating. The restaurant’s terrace on the 10th floor offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Naples, the island of Capri and, of course, Mount Vesuvius. The hotel has a small fitness center and indoor pool. Also worth noting, excellent by Italian standards, breakfasts and quiet rooms. An ideal holiday in Naples should be just that.

La Ciliegina Lifestyle Hotel

La Ciliegina has a rooftop terrace with a hot tub and sun loungers. It offers panoramic views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Castel Nuovo Castle is 300 meters away.

For opera lovers, it will be important that the hotel is just 250 meters from the Neapolitan San Carlo Opera House and a 5-minute walk from the Augusteo Funicular Station.

Grand hotel orientente

Grand Hotel Oriente - I liked the hotel with unusual rooftop chairs. Nearby metro station Toledo, the one that is recognized as the most beautiful in Europe.

Grand hotel santa lucia

Grand Hotel Santa Lucia was built in the style of art nouveau in the early 20th century, but nevertheless has not lost its relevance and beauty to date. Located right on the seafront by the sea, generous breakfasts, an excellent restaurant at the hotel for dinner.

Partenope relay

Partenope Relais - a hotel right on the seafront, from chips - breakfast can be served directly in the room for freeand if you wish you can drink cappuccino with fresh croissants right at the table on the promenade. The city center and main attractions within walking distance, a maximum of 20 minutes of accessibility.

Exe majestic

Exe Majestic - the hotel is located in the most beautiful quarter of Naples Chiaia (Chiaia), there are many shops for lovers of shopping, as well as decent restaurants. Each guest room has a private bathroom. 24 hour check-in and parking at the hotel.

Grand hotel parker's

Grand Hotel Parker's - with this hotel I have especially pleasant personal memories, as this was my first visit to Naples with my future wife more than 5 years ago. It is a little away from the center, on a hill, a taxi ride from the promenade takes about 10 minutes and costs around 8-12 euros. The rooftop restaurant, as well as many of the rooms, offers views not only of Mount Vesuvius, but of the whole city - there's nowhere more romantic.

Hotel romeo

Hotel Romeo is a modern designer hotel, one of the most stylish, beautiful and expensive in our review. Located near the port, from where you can get to the islands of Ischia or Capri. The rooftop pool overlooks the harbor. On the 11th floor is the Michelin-starred restaurant Il Comandante. The hotel also has an excellent spa with a modern gym, hot tubs, saunas and sensory showers. If you are not confused by the price of a room from 360 euros / day, then book without hesitation.

For the first acquaintance with Naples, I recommend ordering an individual tour with the team ITALY FOR ME.
